Edinburgh's art community is one of the jewels in the city's crown. The beautiful Modern Art Gallery over to the city's West, multi-disciplinary arts hub Summerhall on the southside, the Fruitmarket Gallery right beside Waverley, to name a few. Edinburgh is teeming with places to discover and appreciate new works, and Art and Vintage is one of them, that also happens to be a great cafe too. 

In the Abbeyhill area of the city, just up from Holyrood Palace, Art and Vintage straddles a large corner unit and, from the outside, does look more shop than cafe — there's retro furnishings, vintage tea-sets, original prints, upholstery, and all sorts for you to get lost in. However, once inside it becomes clear that the cafe isn't just an after thought, with plenty of tables and booths spaced out, and in keeping with the rest of the shop's aesthetic. 

From the kitchen, owners Antonia and Paul are cranking out home-made cakes, and delicious lunch options, with Paul having been a chef for over fifteen years, and Antonia a practicing artist. Their respective backgrounds have melded well in this new venture that makes for a tempting stop-off point.
