Pedlar Coffee

44-48 Wharf Rd, Hoxton, London N1 7UX, UK

Editor's Review

Pedlar, which opened in December 2017, is a charmingly off-the-beaten track coffee spot tucked inside one of the old wharf developments that litter the canal-side in N1. While general footfall is limited, it’s a clear favourite of the office workers who are based nearby and it’s easy to see why.

Coffee, roasted by Volcano, is rich, full-flavoured and expertly handled. There’s a tasty array of freshly-made salad boxes, sandwiches, and pastries, as well as a few other snacks. You can sit just outside the café, within the wharf complex itself, or head to the canal itself and take advantage of some wooden benches and tables and watch the ducks.

While small, Pedlar does what it does really well. The location means that there’s rarely a huge queue and if you’re passing down the towpath or through the zone between Old Street and Angel, it’s definitely worth a detour.
