Saint Kitchen

Unit 2, 61a St Paul's Square, Birmingham B3 1QS, UK

Editor's Review

Perched on the edge of leafy, lovely St. Paul's Square in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, Saint Kitchen is a coffee shop that also prides itself, rightly, on its food. Of Birmingham's various coffee venues, Saint Kitchen has the strongest edible offering, with a full brunch menu including eggs and pancakes, a lunch menu that varies seasonally and is made freshly each day where possible, and an excellent range of sandwiches.

Coffee comes from a variety of roasters, rotated fairly regulalry, but often featuring Square Mile or Extract Coffee. Aeropress and V60 are available, as well as espresso-based drinks. The venue makes a lot of its space, with plenty of seating and the bar and kitchen area cleverly tucked into a corner. There are nice design touches, with small flower arrangements, brightly coloured cups and chairs, and a deep blue back wall to contrast the other walls, which are grey. There is very limited seating outdoors but, if the weather is good, it's a pleasant view on to the Square.
