Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters - It’ll Be Lonely This Christmas Without Brew - 250g Beans
2020 hasn’t exactly been the best year has it? Never fear! Even if your Christmas is slightly more isolated than you’d like, this little cracker of a festive blend is made for all of us, whether we’re sharing a cup across a screen or across a table.
It comes from two countries in the heart of East Africa, where the smiles can be as wide as those that we hope will be seen on Christmas morning. The Rwandan element comes from Gishamwana Island, a small island haven with 35,000 coffee trees and a processing station. This brings a load of orange, cranberry, and winter spices to the mix. The DRC coffee comes from a co-operative called Coopade, which numbers 3,089 small holders, spread through the Musasa region of the Virunga National Park. It brings some boozy dried fruit flavours, plus plenty of chocolate too.
Tasting Notes: boozy chocolate, cranberry, dried fruit, mulled wine spice, orange zest
Origin: East Africa
Region: Gishamwana, Rwadana & Musasa, DRC
Process: Fully washed
Altitude: 1500 - 2100m
We designed the blend to work in all brewing methods – it’ll be quite zesty and bright in espresso, but with plenty of fruit and character. In filter brews, the orange and mulled wine will come to the fore, and in Aeropress, cafetiere and stovetop, you’ll get richer dried-fruit and boozy chocolate flavours.
£1 from the sale of every bag will be donated to Liverpool Homeless Outreach, a charity that works with those less fortunate than us.
