Editor's Letter - #2

The last editor’s letter ended with the news that we would be publishing a new edition of our London Speciality Coffee Map. Well, we’ve actually surpassed our expectations and you can now purchase our first ever Amsterdam Specialty Coffee Map, too.

The SCA Barista Championships are well under way and a number of national champions have been crowned. We’re hoping to catch up with as many of them as we can before the WBC’s in June, held, this year, in Amsterdam. Talking of Amsterdam, again, there’s also a short run-down of the Coffee Festival here.

We were chuffed to have the app featured in Apple’s ‘Today’ section late last month and most of you will have noticed the new update, which allows you to share your favourites and saved lists over the web, track the cafés you’ve rated, and share more detailed feedback about the cafés you’ve visited. We’re always working on updating and improving the app and you should also notice some changes to the website in the not too distant future.

Finally, a little plea: we’re a small team and we want to remain as editorially independent as possible. In order to support the growing of new cities and the adding of more coffee gems, we rely on the encouragement of our subscribers. If you would like to help support what we do – for less than the price of a flat white - please do subscribe. To those that already do: a massive thank you from all of us at Best Coffee.

Until next time.
