Brixton Blend
8 Tunstall Road, Brixton, SW9 8BN
Editor's Review
Recently, Brixton has seen a large number of new speciality coffee openings and Brixton Blend, sibling-cafe of Brockwell Blend, has opened directly opposite the station where it faces the Tunstall Road David Bowie mural. For all Brixton’s plethora of cafes now, this is the only one so prominently placed by the main road.
Brixton Blend serves coffee from Nude and fellow Brixton locals, Volcano, whose new roastery is but one road over. Serving espresso based drinks from your choice of coffee from either roastery as well as a batch brew filter option, there is plenty of choice. With the close proximity of the Volcano roastery, we would imagine they could not be caught short on beans!
The cafe also offers a fine range of baked goods and cakes, sourced from the nearby market stalls to accompany your coffee. This is a bright, modern coffeeshop, with a mixture of stools, bench seating and bright lighting suitable for all manner of meetings or workspace or relaxation. A large and eye-catching “Hey Brixton” sign hangs on a metal spiral staircase which leads up to upstairs seating.
Brixton Blend is handy cafe, located close to the station giving local people an alternative to the big coffee chains which current dominate the high street.
