In the heart of Torquay's high street is Calypso. It doesn't quite fit in to its surrounding but Torquay are lucky to have a place that takes coffee so seriously - the baristas are really enthusiastic and they know their coffee. 

There's lots of wood but it's such a bright space that it doesn't feel overly dark inside. Leather benches are provided for your seating and there is some artwork for you to check out whilst you sip - some is good, some will probably make you laugh.
