Coffee is My Cup of Tea
103B Dalston Lane, E8 1NH
Editor's Review
This excellent café seems visually to fit perfectly into the Dalston aesthetic. Spend any time here however and you’ll realise that this is a unique spot. Hospitality is spot on and we were well treated by barista Eneko on our visits. The coffee was very good and the food exceptional. It’s homemade with many Spanish influences, varying day by day and using quality seasonal ingredients. CIMCOT aim to use as many local and natural products as possible.
Coffee is from Assembly and as well as the usual espresso and filter based options, the café offers unique seasonal takes – such as a cinnamon, ginger, almond latte on our visit. Like a natural, fine-tasting version of a chain café classic. Other notable local suppliers include Fin and Flounder, Forman &Sons, Square Root, Hackney Brewery, Five Points Brewery, Otros Vinos and Lant Street wine. From this list you’ll discern that CIMCOT also offers craft beer and a range of natural wines. We also enjoyed a range of fresh juices and smoothies.
This is a relaxed, casual space with plenty of seating. Coffee is My Cup of Tea has recently started to open for dinner Friday and Saturday nights. The idea is to create the atmosphere of a Spanish tapas bar, where everyone is welcome, whether you come in for only a drink or for a meal. The expanse of white walls (another Spanish connection?) provide an opportunity for local artists to display their work.
