Dukes Coffee Roasters
247 Flinders Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia
Editor's Review
Since opening their doors in 2012, Dukes Coffee, centrally located on Flinders Ln, has been a staple for coffee enthusiasts, new and seasoned. There’s a constant line, quickly turning over, and baristas with knowledge and experience ensuring quality is not lost, even late in the day.
Superlative, well-designed espresso blends come from one machine, lighter-bodied silky single origins ethically sourced from the other. Filters are specifically brewed according to roast and flavour profile either via batch, or Kono, one of the only places using the original device. You really can’t go wrong. It's also worth checking out what the company does through WeForest via their website, contributing to sustainability of coffee and developing countries.
It’s a long room, warmly lit for those who want to sit along the benches or brew bar, an intimate nook for a small amount of people, and if you’re lucky enough to get the table by the window, you’ll have some views of Melbourne’s famous lane. The tiled floors are also something to note while waiting for our coffee. There is a small selection of teas on offer, and artisan pastries to accompany your coffee should you feel a bit peckish.
