Flag & Wire is a prodigious café producing distinctly flavorful, high-quality specialty coffee that, inevitably, leaves a positive perennial impression upon its patrons. Surprisingly, this exemplary outlet is nestled in the tiny town of McMinnville, Oregon. In addition, it is a part of the cities Alpine Avenue Improvement Project which was established to create a low traffic, pedestrian-friendly street fostering economic vitality and community vibrancy. 

The incomparable taste of Flag & Wire’s coffee is due in part to their atypical in-house roasting machinery. The beans are hand roasted in small batches on an air roaster which is very different from the conventional drum roasters used by most specialty coffee shops. The contraption is particularly calibrated to cater to lightly roasted beans; generating the optimal conditions necessary to accentuate the complete character of the coffee.

Flag & Wire’s atmosphere furnishes a rustic modernity that pairs well with the bright complexities of their coffees. The color scheme of greys, whites, and browns are pleasantly offset by a large technicolor mural rendered by the hand of a local artist; further cementing the heart behind Flag & Wire’s business: community.
