The thought of remotely drinkable coffee being anywhere near Times Square was unfathomable just a few years ago, but companies like For Five Coffee Roasters, who have been roasting in Queens since 2011, are getting the city closer and closer to having good coffee on every corner. This decent-sized outpost is slightly east of the Midtown madness on a relatively quiet corner of 46th St, and is undoubtedly ambitious with the coffee geekery on display just a block or two away from Broadway's biggest musical sensations.

A rotating selection of For Five's blends and single origin coffees are available as espresso on either a Sanremo Opera or an elegant Modbar while brewed coffee options include ready-to-serve drip and single cups made with a Kalita Wave. Seasonal signature beverages are available alongside standard coffee menu items at a surprisingly low price point for the area. The decor is minimal, but with high ceilings and varied seating options, the cafe is a fine place to hunker down with an in-house made pastry, sandwich, or salad and drink options ranging from a thoughtfully executed shot of espresso to a matcha latte with macadamia milk.
