High Grade
The Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, E1 6QL
Editor's Review
Both Brick Lane and coffee carts have played key roles in the development of the London coffee scene but never the two together before. Several cafes in the area have closed so a cart outside the Old Truman Brewery seems a very workable idea, especially with coffee and service of this quality. It’s run by Liam Chau (who some of you might know from FullCity Cycles on Leather Lane back in the day) with help from Stevie and it’s a great little coffee cart with a fine cup of Workshop coffee, whether espresso based or filter – it’s that rare coffee cart with an EK43 grinder! There’s plenty of seating nearby and toilets at the Brewery. You can get sweet treats and cakes, pastries and breakfast pots along with your coffee or tea. If you’re in the area, pay them a visit.
