Joe Coffee Company — World Trade Center
185 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10007
Editor's Review
Family-owned Joe is an NYC staple with more than a dozen locations throughout New York. A later addition to the coffee powerhouse, this Joe opened in 2017 inside the architectural marvel, of the World Trade Center. Unlike many of Joe's cozy cafes, this sleek, small space actually takes inspiration from the World Trade Center, echoing the Occulus itself with similar chic pieces of decor like a curved bar, glowing rectangular lights, and white ceiling fixtures.
While this Joe isn't a place to sit and hang for too long, there are narrow standing bars lining the walls, which encourage a quick phone break while waiting for your drinks. Divided betwen hot and cold beverages, a menu of standard cafe classics (non-dairy options include oat and almond) are to-the-point, and a house drip and single origin drip make the decision process quick. While the cafe doesn't have any manual brews, their retail shelf encourages quite the opposite at home, offering a wide selection of devices like Chemexes, Hario hand grinders, and AeroPress. Quick bites available include pastries locally sourced from Ovenly and Union Square Hospitality.
