Editor's Review

Redchurch Street is deep in the heart of London coffee country. Once home to the hugely influential Square Mile pop-up Penny University (2010), Redchurch Street is currently home to cafes such as Allpress, Barber & Parlour, Sorry Coffee and now Modern Society.  Modern Society is a London based general store focussing on luxury products including clothing and magazines. To put together their in-store cafe they collaborated with the highly rated Embassy East cafe and roasters Assembly. The coffeeshop is shiny indeed and features a full Modbar installation.

A softer touch is brought by the influence of cult East London florists Grace & Thorn who play an important role in the look of the space. Brownies are  by Little Bread Pedlar and cakes by Genevieve the Baker. As well as Assembly coffee (in espresso, Chemex and bulk brew forms), teas from Postcard are available. Modern Society are organising evening talks and events to keep an eye out for those.
