Out of the Brew
306 New Cross Rd, London SE14 6AF, UK
Editor's Review
This colourful café next to Deptford Town Hall has a cheery vibe, and even if the weather doesn’t permit sitting in the garden out the back, the bright blue exterior and bright yellow interior conjures summer days throughout the year. Even the coffee machine (a Sanremo Zoe 1 group) is a sunny yellow. Apart from the ‘bulletproof’ (a slow-releasing blend of double espresso, almond milk and coconut oil - an Australian thing), the choices are fairly predictable, yet not limited – americano, latte, espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, flat white, filter – because they aren’t solely focussed on coffee. Drinks also include an extensive variety of teas, wines (maybe something to do with being situated just in front of the Goldsmiths campus and thus popular with students) and cordials. Ask for the story behind Redemption Roasters; a heart-warming project involving Aylesbury Prison’s young offenders.
