Sonny & Vito's is as classic an Italian deli as you could imagine — walls stacked high with artisanal, exciting products that have clearly been rigorously tried, tested, and sought out. Tucked away on a residential street in the West End, don't sleep on this place, it's well worth checking out. It also happens to be incredibly dog-friendly, which in our book is only a good thing. 

Over a decade old, Sonny & Vito's feels like it could have been there for a lot longer. The coffee is classic Italian — strong and unfussy. You know what you're going to get with the Union roast, and in truth if you're looking for a more exciting, interesting brew, then there are other cafes in the area better served to your needs. However, if you want a quick, reliable pick me up, in a friendly, local environment, Sonny & Vito's do that better than most. Tea and hot chocolate follow a similar model, brands that people are used to, and used to enjoying. 

Where Sonny & Vito's focus is well guided is on their food, all of it made on site, and at prices so reasonable it's no wonder that a steady stream of people move in and out of the cafe for much of the day. Home baked tarts using excellent Scottish produce, European inspired sweet treats like Pastel De Nata, and a range of different cakes using the best of what the seasons have to offer. It's hard to be disappointed really, and even harder to leave once you find a seat. A neighbourly, warm deli that you hope will last another few decades yet.
