The Missing Bean

The Missing Bean are a roastery and café based in Oxford and as well as seling their beans to a few other venues, this coffee shop is their main public-facing operation. Based on Turl Street, it's right in the centre of town and helpfully close to the meeting points of many of the walking tours that thread their way around the university city.

Due to its central location, the café is often busy and, while there is plenty of seating, it can get cramped. That is testament, though, to The Missing Bean's popularity with students and visitors alike. A range of sandwiches and toasties are available, as well as some sweet things, and the coffee is good and well-handled. The staff manage to stay on top of the steady stream of customers too, which always deserves recognition.
