The Pear Tree

You might begin to think that you’re lost when you set out to find The Pear Tree, but follow the map instead of your instincts, and continue through the residential complex. The café/restaurant/deli fusion has a European feel to it, but is actually an Australian eatery; the deli sells TimTams and Vegemite takes centre stage amongst the table condiments. Their all-day brunch is mostly healthy and the portions are fulsome, but it’s just as fulfilling to grab a coffee – they mainly use Caravan’s The Daily Blend which satisfies your sweet tooth. Alternatively, Milo (the classic Aussie chocolate drink) is served, and their hot chocolate is delicious, grated and melted in the kitchens.

Although The Pear Tree is certainly ‘off the beaten track’, it attracts a good crowd so it’s advisable to book ahead if you’re visiting at the weekend, otherwise you might struggle to get a table.
