WNDRFUEL
Zülpicher Str. 30, 50674 Köln, Germany
Editor's Review
Off a busy road, through bright lights, is the most stunning entrance to a coffee shop in Cologne. WNDERFUEL's courtyard entrance is filled with benches and greenery; it feels like you've found a secret garden. This flows through to inside where some of the stalls are made from tree trunks.
Inside is a little like a derelict warehouse that has been reformed and turned in to a café. There's lots of exposed brick and a large metal RSJ; there are also some beautiful artefacts from throughout time such as a typewriter, an old radio, and an ancient television. It can be cold in the winter so they have heaters under the tables that you can plug in if you wish.
The coffee on the darker side but it is made well and you can get a filter from a V60 or an AeroPress. If you like to enjoy your surroundings whilst you have your coffee then you will love WNDERFUEL. There's also a swing chair outside if you're brave enough.
