Celebrate Hario’s 100th Anniversary with the Limited Edition V60 Dripper
To celebrate Hario’s 100th anniversary, the UK arm of the coffee and tea specialists have enlisted talented artists Cadi Lane, Hestie Roodt and Naomi Bailey to reimagine the iconic V60 Dripper. Cardiff-based illustrator, Cadi Lane, is a speciality coffee enthusiast who’s well-regarded in the industry for her whimsical patterns. Hestie Roodt and Naomi Bailey are based in London. While Hestie has opted to reflect the brewer’s storied heritage, Naomi has celebrated the home of Hario UK’s HQ with a stylised cityscape.
The celebrations don’t stop there, however! Partner cafés and roasters are also getting in on the action by submitting their own designs. Browns of Brockley, Siop Shop and Square Mile have all used the iconic V60 shape as a way to display aspects of their distinctive styles.
The V60 Dripper is probably Hario’s most iconic piece of kit – invented in the 1950s and named after the wide, conical profile that slants to a 60° angle. This allows water to fluidly flow through all parts of the coffee, so providing an evenly extracted cup filled with depth and flavour. The Dripper is anchored by a large hole, which the brewer can adjust to their liking. All brewing variables are considered, hence the hype. Rather excitingly, this is the first time it has been used as a canvas for artwork.
For Hario UK, 100 years is something to look back on with pride, but it also marks a new beginning. The brewing experts are already working with another roster of talented artists on future projects. Keep your eyes peeled!
For now, the collaborative, highly collectible V60 Drippers will be launching in early October. The collection will be available in extremely limited quantities. Don’t miss out!
