This near-hidden New York outpost of renowned national specialty roaster Intelligentsia isn't quite a speakeasy – but if you blink, you might miss it, tucked into the lobby of the century-old High Line Hotel. There are only a few seats here in the small, makeshift lobby space that houses the coffee bar, but the real attraction is the building's front courtyard, a capacious, hedge-hidden outdoor playground for humans (and even their dogs) that, with its cozy pillows and oasis-like-feel will have guests imagining they've been transported to Los Angeles or further.

Though the outdoor space shares seating with the 180 Tenth Garden restaurant (meaning you'll get kicked off of that cushion at mealtime), you're saved the trip inside the building by the spiffy vintage bread truck serving as a satellite coffee bar for the outdoor space. Delightful! Indoors you'll get a fuller menu, including a single-origin brew menu featuring filter brews on pour-over or batch brew. This is also a fine place to enjoy well-prepared infusions from Kilogram Tea, Intelligentsia's sister tea label, as well as pastries from West Village gem Mah-ze-Dahr bakery.  Milk alternatives include almond and oat.
