Origin's new café on Charlotte Road in the heart of Shoreditch is a terrific addition to London's growing selection of top tier cafés. The café is coffee-focused with an attractive brew bar in the window, stretching across to the espresso machine and till. Serving beans from their own Cornwall based roastery, this is as much a place to enjoy a quality cup of coffee as it is to discover one of the UK's up and coming coffee companies (they have a training centre downstairs).

Daily filters are offered as pour over or from the batch brew alongside a small selection of snacks and toasties. The design is gorgeous, original and highlighted by John Dunbar Kilburn's mural behind the brew bar which seems to have been inspired by either watching too much Futurama inside a submarine or perhaps just a particularly good seaside LSD trip. Whatever the inspiration, both the mural and the café itself are delightful and refreshing additions to Shoreditch.
