Occupying a block of Soho with no other speciality coffe shops, 39 Steps is a new-kid on the...block.  The first of what we believe will be several shops, 39 Steps in Soho has got a lot to offer; multiple coffees of their own roasting, fresh pastries, own-branded juices, multiple brew methods, wireless charging for your phone and - most fun of all - a trust based umbrella system for those rainy mornings.

39 Steps doesn't try to conform to any single norm; it hasn't tried to replicate the over dependence on copper and filament bulbs, and the European coffee house feeling (with cosy booths) is welcome.

The coffee menu is complex - perhaps overly so unless you're a devout regular trying all the combinations.  That said, the house blend is full bodied and smooth - more traditional than disruptive, but well balanced.
