Allpress’ new roaster/café is an elegant beast: a large, stunning two story space with lots of outside seating. It’s a popular space for brunch as well as coffee adding a great deal to what’s on offer in Dalston. This site also functions as a roaster and training centre for the Auckland company, established in 1989 who now have roasteries in Japan and Australia too. The roaster in a custom built Allpress Hot Air Roaster, designed and engineered by Michael Allpress and Mike Scobie.

Espresso and filter options are available – filter via a Modbar pourover unit & EK43 with two single origins available at any one time. Food is very good. It is a simple offering which Allpress explain reflects their principles of quality, simplicity and consistency. Their Mixed Plate, a picnic-like ensemble of wonderful and nourishing ingredients, is the dish they most heartily recommend. They source from some of London’s best suppliers including bread from the Little Bread Pedlar & Irish Smoked Salmon from the Wright Brothers.
