Amoret is a customer friendly coffee shop in Hammersmith that has charmed a large number of local office workers, commuters and residents. A great deal of thought and passion has gone into Amoret’s design with drink options carefully tailored to provide elements of familiarity as well as excellence.
The interior departs from the now common themes of industrial chic and instead delights us with art deco lamps and branding, and subtle green tones. It’s a fairly small space, geared mostly for takeaway although there are a few seats around a table. Amoret curate single origin green beans directly from specialty which are then custom roasted by Jon Cowell at Curve Roasters. A range of coffees are available on filter including Amoret’s own selected, Curve roasted beans and coffees from guest roasters.
Food offered includes homemade date, pistachio, saffron and cardamom infused organic rye sourdough, banana and walnut loaf from The Grocer on Elgin, sourdough cinnamon buns from October Bakery and pastries by Aux Merveilleux de Fred in Old Brompton Road – depending on which day you visit.
Thought has gone into detail: sugar is a single origin organic brown from Costa Rica (courtesy of Monmouth Coffee), hot chocolate is from Mork and matcha from Teaforia. Amoret currently stock organic artisanal bars from Loverdiana (Italy) and Antidote (Brooklyn, USA). Both producers offer a different, but equally compelling, take on the possibilities of raw cacao - mostly single origin.
Continuing the theme of attention to detail, water is of course reverse osmosis filtered, there is only organic fruit in the complimentary drinking water and all takeaway cups, lids and straws are fully compostable for minimum carbon footprint. All waste is either recycled or composted.
