Opening a second location near Amsterdam’s Centraal Station may have alleviated some of the congestion at Bakers & Roasters De Pijp, the flagship restaurant of the Kiwi-Brazilian brand. Yet it did not take long for Bakers & Roasters Centrum to become extremely popular, too. No wonder: this is the place for all-day brunch in a city that is just waking up to the practice of pre-sunset culinary indulgence. The menu also has plenty of hearty breakfast and lunch dishes, all of which can be served with cocktails (salted caramel white Russian, anyone?) and/or perfectly prepared double shots of espresso, in black or white.

New Zealand-headquartered Ozone Coffee Roasters provides all the beans, including those that go into the exciting espresso martini. Bakers & Roasters is undoubtedly an Amsterdam creation, though its baristas take their work as seriously as their counterparts do Down Under. Now, if only they would take reservations.
