Bluestone Lane
90 Water St, New York, NY 10005, USA
Editor's Review
The Australian coffee chain Bluestone Lane has been slowly rolling out new cafe's across New York City lately, and while this is no quirkly local gem, they take real care with both their coffees and their food options, and especially in a chain-heavy area like this Wall Street location, Bluestone can be a strong option. They roast their own beans, offer a full line of coffee beverages, and a fresh and delicious full menu of breakfast and lunch items. Pastries are from Husk Bakery and Balthazar, but the real treats are prepared on site in the Bluestone kitchen; toast options include ricotta and berry, the very Aussie Vegemite and avocado smash, pea & mint smash, and a salmon and cream cheese version, amongst others. They have granola, a kale and quinoa breakfast bowl, and a delicious crispy bacon and fried egg brioche sandwich, with spinach, tomato, and house made chutney.
This location, close to a lot of financial sector offices, as well as South Street Seaport and the related tourist trade, can get busy during morning rush, as well as weekday lunch hour, but there is more room inside than you might imagine to find a corner and grab a table.
