Bocca Coffee
Kerkstraat 96HS, 1017 GP Amsterdam, Netherlands
Editor's Review
Menno Simons began roasting coffee as Bocca in an Amsterdam garage in 2001. Today he and his team have a full-on roastery and warehouse, located about an hour east of the city, while their coffees can be found at bars, restaurants and specialty food markets across the Netherlands. For a fail-proof cup of their stuff, prepared by some of the very best baristas in the country, visit this resplendent flagship store-cum-cafe-cum-training centre.
Since its autumn 2015 arrival, Bocca has gifted the city with a serious yet serene spot to fill up (by the cup or the bag). If all the cool sitting nooks are taken, linger instead around the handsome bar, where you can ogle the customized La Marzocco Strada. As a rule, you can choose from at least four espressos and two single-origin filter coffees, and on weekends, BUNN batch-brewed coffee. Still thirsty? Tap the old Probat roaster ingeniously repurposed as a water fountain. Sweet goods are available to eat as well.
