Brazier Coffee Roasters
10, Puttee House, Tonedale Mill Business Park, Wellington TA21 0AW, UK
Editor's Review
On an industrial estate in the otherwise very picturesque, redbrick town of Wellington is Brazier Coffee Roasters. Their roastery café capitalises on the romance of the Giesen whirring away in the corner, which along with the roastery’s packing operation, is in plain view of the customers. The décor is otherwise simple but snug. In the winter a wood burning stove kicks out heat across the high-ceilinged space, which has coffee-sack upholstered seating and expansive, wooden tables. Plants hang haphazard from the ceiling, surrounding the café’s central feature, an ornate, silver-painted, spiral staircase. The staircase doesn’t lead anywhere, but it looks great.
Naturally, the coffee is all from the roastery. Brazier’s popular Altitude blend is the house espresso, and there is a rotating single origin as a guest. Filter brewed on Chemex or V60 is also available.A small but well-balanced brunch and lunch menu and cakes brought-in from Cakesmiths complete the café’s offering, making for a charming and individual little coffee stop.
