Café Artisan
Berggatan 8, 00100 Helsingfors, Finland
Editor's Review
A unique café experience in the centre of Helsinki.
Met, at first glance, by the back of a beautiful La Marzocco Strada – placed commandingly atop a granite work bench – there is no mistaking what these guys do.
The interior is undeniably Scandinavian – clean white walls and textured concrete complemented by black and white tables and a beautiful big landscape window, bleeding warm light inside. The neutral tones are enhanced with flurries of green from the many leafy plants dotted around the café and warmed by ample downlighting, giving the space a clean and cosy living room feel.
Should the need arise, a small meeting space is available for hire.
The coffee is exceptional and everything else stems from that. The treats on offer compliment the coffee being served, and, if it’s not made in house, it is sourced from local artisanal bakeries. They offer a rotation of renowned Nordic roasteries, including Tim Wendelboe, April Coffee Roasters and Coffee Collective, as well as some special small batches roasted themselves.
All of this adds up to a café worth visiting again and again.
