Cafuné Espresso Bar
Academiestraat 8, 8000 Brugge, Belgium
Editor's Review
Off the main tourist trail in Brugge you may stumble in to Cafuné Espresso Bar, a small specialty coffee shop. In a historic city centre dominated by shops for tourists, Cafuné has carved its own slice of café serving very good coffee.
The espresso rotates almost daily between their own roast and other Belgian and Dutch roasters. Their own roasting capacity is limited because it is - apparently - forbidden to operate a coffee roaster in the historic city centre. Fun fact but equally frustrating for an independent café.
The coffee is good (we had Peru single origin espresso) and extracted with passion. This is not a city designed for independent coffee shops to thrive, but Cafuné is surely good enough to tempt the locals to brave the tourist trodden cobbles for a better coffee.
