Campbell & Syme was founded in 2012 by Joe Syme and his mother Patricia bringing decades of experience in the catering business to their mission to bring decent coffee to Fortis Green. Fast forward to 2014 and Joe joined forces with Jon Cowell and Dumo Mathema to roast coffee on the site. They have been producing some delicious coffees and their roaster café is the ideal place to try them. Espresso-based drinks and hand brewed methods such a sv60, Chemex, French Press and Aeropress are available. Campell & Syme aim to highlight the excellence of coffee growing and production at origin in their roasting and brewing, visiting farms to develop close relationships with producers. It’s not all about coffee.

It’s an intimate, friendly cafe – and after a refit in the autumn of 2017, has a bright, welcoming look and feel. Fortis Green previously known mostly as the place of origin of Ray and Dave Davies of the Kinks, and the place where Fairport Convention were formed, now has a newer notable resident.
