Catalyst sits on the corner of Grays Inn Road and a small side street towards Chancery Lane tube. Serving their own in-house roast, both for espresso-based drinks and filter (V60 and batch brew), there is also a very good food menu. The venue is licenced to serve alcohol, with craft beers and cocktails and  later opening times towards the end of the week, which gives a nice shift in tempo and emphasis during the course of the day – the morning is full of office workers grabbing coffee to go, whereas later openings have more of a laid-back, bar feel. 

There is plenty of seating and the white walls and large windows give the place an airy, open feel, a pleasant contrast to the high and slightly stifling architecture of the area itself. The staff are friendly and welcoming, happy to chat coffee or just ask how you're doing. There is a full retail offering too.
