Cocora Coffee Roasters
Calle Lozano, 10, 29680 Estepona, Málaga, Spain
Editor's Review
Estepona seems to have been spared the ill-fate of many of the other tourist heavy towns on the Costa Del Sol, and as a result has a more relaxed feel that seems to appeal to creative types. Recent years have seen the opening of higher end wine, craft beer and gin bars, as well as the traditional covered market revived as a food hall. Sure enough speciality coffee followed with Cocora Coffee Roasters arriving in 2017.
Set down a quiet back street in the old town, the cafe occupies a glass walled corner spot, flooded with natural light but kept cool by awnings. In the corner stands their roaster, adorned with a ‘we roast our coffee here’ sign - their beans are also available to take home. A takeaway hatch opens onto their outside seating area, a collection of tables in a picturesque square shaded by orange trees.
As well as the usual choice of tea, filter and espresso based coffees, Cocora serve an interesting selection of iced coffees such as espresso and tonic, sharpened by a squeeze of lime. There are some flavoured drinks that likely only detract from the coffee - if you fancy something sweet opt for a pastry or cake from the counter instead.
