The Covered Market is an Oxford must-see, a maze of little independent shops and cafés, and towards the front are Colombia Coffee Roasters. Founded and run by Milly, who is Colombian, the café roasts its own, either in-house on a Giesen or at a larger roastery a short cycle ride away. The range of coffees is impressive, as is the knowledge and skill of the baristas. Filters are available via Syphon, V60, Chemex, or Aeropress, and there are usually at least four or five blends or single origins available to try.

The venue itself is probably more suited to dropping in to – there are a few upturned crates to sit on but otherwise seating is limited. The look and feel of the place is nice though, with light wood panelling, bright lighting (which helps as it's in a covered area), and informative boards detailing the various coffee options. There are sweets and pastries to buy, and a range of home-brewing kit – the staff will be happy to give advice.
