Craving Coffee
Unit 3, Gaunson House, 3 Markfield Road, Tottenham, N15 4QQ
Editor's Review
Matt and Rachel Ho opened Craving Coffee with a mission to bring great coffee and locally sourced food to Tottenham. A large, bright café, set in a row of industrial units near the popular Markfield Park and the Lea River. Serving as a frontage to the Mill Co Project studios - a collective of artists, musicians and designers - the cafe space is open and accessible with a high ceiling and effective use of floral decoration.
The emphasis is on great local produce and the desire to serve, and be part of, the local community. Local roasters Climpsons & Sons are featured alongside guest coffees.
Teas are from the superb Lalani and Co., and Craving also serve a delicious, particularly intense and naturally sweet, cascara with lime and mint. The food here is also excellent. Again, local producers are featured extensively: Wildes Cheese, Flourish Craft Bakery, Jammy Val and House of Sverre Smoked Salmon are some of the superb producers whose ingredients and products are featured so well here. The menu is seasonal, keeping everything fresh.
Craving Cofffee are also licensed to serve alcohol 7 days a week, and offer a range of local craft beers, Old World wines, and house-made cocktails. They have WiFi (and power outlets!), and welcome out of office workers too. They now open 7 days a week, with late night openings on Thursdays & Fridays for Tottenham Social Street Food Residencies. Craving aim to be friendly, inviting and accessible. They certainly achieve this while serving quality coffee, food and drink without compromise.
