Cromwell STREAT are a specialty roaster, artisan bakery, and cafe all found on the same premises with a lovely garden space to bask in. Coffee features a blend for milky drinks, and single origin for blacks and filters always on rotation via batch brew or ModBar, almost weekly. Quality breads, pies, pastries and cakes line the displays to select from, all baked in-house across the courtyard and garden to go with smooth coffee roasted right next to the bakery – don’t be shy to try some of the bread samples too, really well textured.

There is plenty of table seating inside and out, with the garden area making way for ample grass to sit on and even some hammocks if that’s your feels for the day. The space is also shared with one of the incredibly ethical and sustainable initiatives run by Cromwell STREAT. Organic vegetables and herbs are grown for use in the menu. STREAT also contribute to the ever-growing ReGround (google these guys) company who use coffee waste as a fertiliser and compost rather than just turf it. Mushrooms are grown out of this and are used in the same kitchen – it’s a brilliant cycle with a great focus on permaculture. A proponent of the ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme, the company also trains many disadvantaged such as homeless or refugees to gain skills and confidence. Their website is worth a read, and the premises are absolutely worth a visit.
