Department of Coffee and Social Affairs have now expanded to a fair number of sites across London. They have managed an admirable level of consistency in their cafes, helped no little by gifted roaster Dumo Mathema’s impromptu unannounced visits. In addition, the quality of staff training and the decision to focus on two espressos plus mainly batch brew filters at any time has encouraged this level of consistency that keeps baristas and regulars engaged, while allowing staff the time to really get to know the best way to present a coffee. All this ensures quality and consistency across multiple stores - we don't believe anyone does this better.
