endorffeine is a sleek, minimalist project from former biochemist-barista Jack Benchakul, previously of long time LA coffee purveyors Cognoscenti, located inside the Far East Plaza, one of the hipper regions of the Chinatown neighborhood.

The name is an amalgam of caffeine + endorphins, two of the most exciting elements in coffee, of course. Yet once you're inside you're at peace; simple white and light blue walls with a central bar allow the focus to be on the craft at hand, and don't worry about inconsistency at this spot; you can expect Jack himself to serve up every single beverage you're drinking here, whether it's a standard milk-espresso beverage, courtesy of Heart Coffee, or a specialty beverage with a Thai-inspired twist from Benchakul's own background.

Try a vanilla pandan cold brew or a palm sugar whiskey iced latte, uniquely sweet and buzzingly strong, with all syrups and coconut milk created in-house (all specialty drinks are vegan too). If you're in LA for the long haul you can also get a taste of Jack's culinary background; "9" is his pop-up dinner-cocktail effort for guests, in which flavors for both drinks and foods are crucial to each other's accompaniment.
