Festival Coffee
Festival Church, Queen Street, Chester CH1 3LG, UK
Editor's Review
Festival Coffee shares its home with a local church - in one of the most eclectic space collaborations of any café in the North West region. Based on the first floor of the building, you can enjoy your coffee looking down into the church below from the wrap around balcony seating area.
As a space sharing project, the concept works brilliantly, as the church is not your average religious building – hosting regular events for the local community and encourages visitors to grab a coffee. The café itself is based a little off the beaten track, along a side road (Queen Street), just off the main thoroughfare of Foregate Street, in the city centre.
That element of seclusion, along with calmness of the church below, make it an ideal spot to dip away from the shopping crowds, whilst still being within easy walking distance of all of the main tourist destinations.
