F. Mondays

Brixton has become a great location for coffeeshops. F. Mondays sits on Brixton Hill opposite Stir Coffee and has established itself as a cafe very much serving the local community. On arriving, one first notices are the palms outside and indeed, F. Mondays has a lush garden, to escape the busy-ness of the street, designed and planted by one of their customers and Grand Designs garden designer of the year 2015 Marc O'Neill, built with reclaimed materials from around Brixton. That sense of urban oasis pervades the cafe opened by locals for locals.

Coffee is from Alchemy and Square Mile – served in espresso based drinks, single origin filters and cold brew. In terms of cakes, breads and meats, a premium is put on local producers such as Amelia Rope who supplies bespoke hot chocolate. The menu includes unique touches on simple dishes whether breakfast dishes or sourdough toasties. The Alkaline juice factory next door provides juices and almond milk. There is an impressive cake selection and even ice cream sandwiches in the summer months.
