Hearts broken by the shuttering of Danny Nusbaum's previous coffee bar – half of the defunct Tilda All Day restaurant in Clinton Hill – can rejoice and be mended now that he's opened the splendid Golda Kitchen just down the street on the suddenly posh corner of Franklin and Fulton in Bed-Stuy. Riffing on the old joint's concept of a sunny, wee daytime coffee and food paradise, Golda paints a warmer hue – evoking a true community feel (admittedly, it's close quarters with your tablemate) and proffering a selection of Israeli-styled plates and snacks. The details here are comforting, too, from the wood-paneled La Marzocco Linea espresso machine to a stencil menu board to stunning bespoke ceramics (that match the shop's color scheme) from Greenpoint artisan Calyer Ceramics.
The coffee here's top notch, too, with Parlor beans in the hopper and quality guest roasters like Portland, Maine's Tandem Coffee stopping through for long guest spots. Pair your drink with a pastry, a farmer's cheese plate, or something heartier like truffled couscous or a smoked trout sandwich. Just want coffee? Try the cookie milk cappuccino or iced latte, the shop's signature creations, and feel free to substitute almond or oat milk if you swing that way.

Though Golda is truly crowded when it's busy, if you're lucky enough to snag a seat (the counter's the most fun here) you may find yourself staying longer than you planned and ordering more than you intended in this little gem of a cafe that's a cut above the ordinary.
