Gregorys Coffee — Noho
649 Broadway, New York, NY 10012, USA
Editor's Review
Breaking out of the mold of the usual Gregorys, a reliable, mainstream-ish chain with dozens of cafes across Manhattan and beyond, is this special spot at Broadway and Bleecker, which serves as a somewhat experimental flagship for the local roaster. The white-walled cafe (sunnier, and brighter than most other Gregorys) creates a cozy-cluttered atmosphere with warm, glowing globe lights dangling above amid hanging plants, with gathering space focused around a central communal table and a few smaller seats around the periphery.
Offering the standard range of Gregorys drinks and in-house baked goods, this Gregorys also pushes further: signature coffee "cocktails" based on current single-origin offerings, a full blend menu and single origin espresso menu, and more. Though from the street you'd think this might be more of the same from this chain, once you're inside you begin to feel the enthusiasm for coffee that drives those who work here, and the fun they're having experimenting with it.
