Hawthorn Common comes with a scenic terrace overlooking bustling Glenferrie Road and, out into the distance, some of Hawthorn’s classic looking rooftops, borders, and well-aged trees. Well canopied and covered by those same trees and decorated with weather shades, it’s accessible all year round for those preferring the outdoors. The venue is available for functions and bookings and can be designed to suit all, keeping a modern, clean look available to dress as you please.

The widespread bi fold doors open up to connect to the oak floored terrace inside. This gives a feel of inclusivity and absorbent of natural light. Continuing with an inclusive theme, so many of the essentials here are produced in house: roasted coffee, milled flour, baked bread, fresh herbs, cultured yoghurt, and fruit preserves all made from high quality ingredients procured locally, where possible. What’s truly inspiring is the young team’s aim for minimal waste committing through City Harvest.

Food and drinks menu are all seasonal, with a little twist of experimentation on each by the team. Coffee options include batch and put over for filter with a blend for smooth milky drinks and rotating single origin for blacks, well roasted and brewed for optimal notes.
