The coffee bar at Hubbard & Bell within the new Hoxton Hotel is something to behold, even beyond its pioneering position within London’s hotel and restaurant coffee scene. The cafe, overseen by Dave Robson, previously of Association, is home to the prettiest customised Strada I’ve seen yet. House espresso and filter beans are from Origin Coffee Roasters, and there are additional guest roasters weekly. Cake and pastry options are superb, as are pressed juices, with more substantial food available from the Hubbard & Bell restaurant.

The hotel lobby, fully furnished with comfy sofas, chairs and free WiFi is buzzy but not intrusively so. This is possibly my favourite London cafe workspace yet.
