Walking down Goswell Road one evening while visiting Clerkenwell Design Week we spotted this large cafe and popped in to give it a try. We were impressed with the Alchemy coffee and friendly, knowledgeable staff. It’s a spacious, unpretentious coffeeshop with art on the walls and a sweet, welcoming atmosphere. There’s a welcome focus on that service aspect – natural, spontaneous, humble and approachable.

Jimmy is a tabby cat and the bee is a bee, in a hive. Together they inspired the name. They serve a selection of pastries, sandwiches homemade cakes, quiches, soups and salads. They also make simple, breakfasts: granola, poached eggs and avocado on sourdough.
