Josie's
28 Jewry St, Winchester SO23, UK
Editor's Review
Josie's in Winchester is a short walk from the High Street and the train station and a perfect spot for brunch or lunch. It's a bustling spot and the quality of the venue means there can often be queues should you go at lunch-time. It's well worth the wait, though, as the range of options on the menu is superb; crab cakes, burgers, a full range of breakfast options, and all made with care and taste.
The coffee is Monmouth and so comes up quite dark and full-bodied, but it's well handled. Tea comes loose-leaf from Jing, and is well brewed whether you're sitting in or getting it to take-away. There's also a good range of smoothies, beuatifully presented in little Mason jars.
Whether you're looking for a good coffee or an excellent brunch, the vibrant Josie's is arguably the best all-round venue in Winchester and its popularity among locals and visitors is a testament to its quality. There is another Josie's, in Bishops Waltham, and Best Coffee is looking forward to visiting there soon.
