Kaf Coffee
5 Hyndland St, Glasgow G11 5QE, UK
Editor's Review
Though small in scale, it’s hard to miss Kaf, on the south-west side of Glasgow’s Mansfield Park. It’s hot pink, all-caps lettering reads like a great proclamation - “There is coffee here! It is good! Come sit!”
Taking the sign’s advice is a good idea. A recent addition to Glasgow, having opened its doors in 2017, Kaf feels right at home. Bounteous cakes and pastries fill up the window, everything made in-house, making it very hard to leave with just a coffee. If you do manage to hold your nerve, their coffee is always well chosen - expect to find single origin espressos and filters from artisanal roasters across the UK, including Edinburgh based Fortitude and James Gourmet Coffee, based in Herefordshire.
If you can grab a seat - Kaf has room for maybe a dozen covers, if you include outside - then there’s is an enviable food menu. The Scandi-inspired brunch plates in particular. Glasgow’s West-End is not short of good cafés and hangouts, but Kaf is right up there near the top of that list.
