The Kaffebud café in the Ehrenfeld area of Cologne is exquisetly designed. It feels so well thought through that it was either a complete accident or it has been very well considered; the latter being the most likely. The exposed brickwork, cement skimmed walls, wooden floors and decorative tiles underneath the window all add something.

The prices are good especially for the quality of the coffee. There is no lunch available yet but breakfast is offered and has been curated with care. Vegans and vegetarians will not be disappointed and, the German obsession, Bio (organic, basically) products are also offered.

Ehrenfeld is a trendy part of Cologne and it's definitely worth a visit for the coffee places in the area. As you sit inside Kaffeebud, have your table candle lit as your drink is delivered and watch the barista hand make an apple tart, you can't help but think this shop it just right for this neighbourhood.
