Kava Cafe
803 Washington St., New York, NY 10014
Editor's Review
A European style espresso-wine-beer bar, this polished café sits poised to pour to tourists and wanderers alike, right around the corner from the Whitney and where the High Line and Meatpacking District meet. Kava's owner, who's also part of the Ace Hotel's New York ownership, takes essences of the boutique hotel's architecture and design for Kava and meshes modern design elements to create an overall elegant experience.
Upon entering, imagine yourself in Milan – you’ll find intricate wood panel-marble counters, dim spotlighting, and bar seating only, maintaining the feel of a wine bar that encourages guest interaction rather than coworking space. Grab a Ceremony Coffee-roasted espresso crafted on a state-of-the-art Strada (non-dairy options include almond and soy) or toss it into a classic espresso-milk beverage. Cold brew is Kyoto style, and pastries are provided by Balthazar.
